| Biography: | Prior to joining the firm as Special Counsel, Mr. Whitmer served as a personal trust officer for more than 30 years until he retired as a Vice President and Trust Officer at Colorado State Bank and Trust, N.A. in February of 2011. During his wide and varied career as a Personal Trust Officer, Mr. Whitmer has, among other things, acted as the mentor for newly hired trust officers, acted as the Senior Personal Trust Officer responsible for 200 trust accounts with a market value of $112,000,000, served as Operations Manager overseeing the activities of a large Trust Department, supervised and conducted probate administration of many complex estates, administered a large number of sensitive and distant personal trust relationships and served as legal counsel to Bank Trust Departments. As Special Counsel Mr. Whitmer will provide advice and counsel to the firm’s clients in the areas of fiduciary law, trust administration, probate administration and estate planning. He will also act as an expert witness. |
